Claude is the name of the AI assistent created by Anthropic. Claude 4 comes in two variants, chat and code and with three models:
Haiku → Fastest, smallest model. Great for quick answers, summaries, and lightweight tasks.
Sonnet → Balanced model. Good mix of speed and intelligence, reliable for everyday reasoning and coding.
Opus → Most powerful, deepest reasoning. Best for complex problem-solving, creativity, and long, nuanced tasks.
| Plan | Model Access | Limits & Benefits | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Haiku, no guaranteed access to Sonnet/Opus | Basic access, full core capabilities | Occasional users |
| Pro | Sonnet in chat and code, Opus in chat. | Claude Code, Projects, Google Workspace, more usage | Regular users, creatives |
| Max 5x | Sonnet and Opus in chat and code | 5× usage, priority access, advanced features | Frequent / heavy users |
| Max 20x | Sonnet and Opus in chat and code, priority | 20× usage, highest limits, early access | Power users and professionals |
Anthropic also has a Team and Enterprise license. Claude doesn’t do imaging and videos, which some other AI products excel at.
Obviously, this post will not dive into the details of every one of these SKUs and the list might even change going forward. The above table is just to explain that based on your needs, you might need to pay more.
Get the Claude (chat) app
In the Apple App Store on the iPhone or in the Google Play Store on Android, you will find the Claude chat app. Claude code is a different beast and not something I will cover in this post. A Daily Prompt might dive into developer scenarios in the future as well.
You can also get a Claude app for Windows by visiting https://claude.ai/download, where you can download and install the app for your version of Windows.
When starting the app, you need to login / sign up to Claude. You can use an email address and a password to login (and add multi factor authentication preferably) or you can login using your Google account or your Apple account.
Use Claude (chat) in a browser
If you prefer not to download the app, you can also open https://claude.ai in a browser and get the same experience there. Claude is not accessible anonymously.
Does the magic work if you don’t do imaging???
That is very different, but actually pretty magical if you ask me.
