I want to host an 80s style party, people should remember their dancing shoes, wear 80s clothing and come for dinner and the following dance party.

I created this quick homemade prompt:

Please help me create an invite for my 60 years birthday. Date is December 6th 2025 and the location is restaurant Skovhus, Stumpedyssevej 4, Hørsholm. The theme for the party is back to the 80s and 80s wear is mandatory. Meetup is 18:00 for dinner and after the dinner there will be an 80s dance party, so remember your dance shoes. Please create the invite on a 80-style poster with neon colors including various party items from the 80s.

ChatGPT did actually create a fairly nice image based on this prompt, but some of the other AIs did yield some very fun results, where the resulting image went in different directions. The funniest one was from Meta AI, who suggested that I could pick between these invites:

Needless to say, I decided to work a bit more on the prompt, so I asked ChatGPT to enhance my prompt and here’s what ChatGPT told me:

That’s already a solid prompt 👍 but you can make it clearer, more structured, and more visual so the output matches exactly what you want. Here’s an improved version:

✨ Why this works better:

Structured → Separates event details from design instructions.
Clear design direction → Specifies neon palette, background, and 80s icons.
Tone guidance → “Vibrant, festive, and full of 80s nostalgia” sets the mood.

So, lets try this prompt in the our 6 AIs (excluding Claude). Note that I actually didn’t change anything in the information given to the AI, just the structure of the prompt. The result from Meta AI was now much better as you will see below. The results are (from worse to best):

Mistral

Mistral got everything wrong here. It moved my party to December 14th and invented a restaurant called Stupcember (or maybe this is from the address).

Needless to say, not going with Mistral on this one.

Grok

Groks suggestion for a birthday invite forgets to include my name, the time and has the city wrong. Furthermore, it doesn’t really look like people having an 80s dance party. Actually the first things that comes into mind is a laundromat.

Grok is also out on this one.

Meta AI

Given a different prompt with the same content, Meta AI now decided that I wasn’t a suburban housewife from the 70s, and it now understood that I needed something different.

Not bad, but I asked for an invite, so I would expect more info on the poster.

Now for the top 3…

ChatGPT

ChatGPT got a lot of things right here, but Copilot and Gemini does it better this time, even though Copilot is using the same LLM as ChatGPT.

Gemini

Gemini makes a great attempt and this would have been the winner, if the location description wasn’t off on the right hand side, this one would have been the winner, but this actually points to some of the things that is hard for AI.

Copilot

This is my favorite, it states everything clearly and this is what I will go with.
